SPOTTER TASK 4
SPOTTER: NATALIA
This week our translator chose 4 key concepts which are Social Media, Digital Competence, DigCompEdu and Media Literacy. In order to analyze our job in the project and others's work as well, we looked at the 4 different concepts of two other groups: The Potato Comitee and MasterMinds. While our concepts are more related to social media, some of these are more theorethical.
From Potato Comitee we had two concepts that were the same but 2 different ones that we consider they were very important and made sense to add them on our concepts, these are:
MapUs (Geek Component): It's a self-assessment tool based on the DigCompEdu framework that measures individuals' digital competence in education. With 58 questions covering 22 competencies, users select their proficiency level from six options. The tool helps educators reflect on their digital strengths and weaknesses, presenting results in a visual wheel with percentages and colors.
Cross-Checking (Methodological-Pedagogical Aspect): Cross-checking involves verifying information by comparing multiple credible sources. It helps assess credibility and fosters critical thinking skills in learners. Students should not accept the first source they encounter but instead confirm information through other reliable sources.
And lastly, from MasterMinds we had 2 different concepts which were:
Geek component: Digital Competence Assessment Tools: Digital competence assessment tools evaluate educators' digital skills in areas like communication, content creation, and problem-solving. They provide feedback for professional growth and support data-driven improvements in digital teaching. Notable examples include the DigCompEdu Check-In Survey and SELFIE, both aligned with EU frameworks.
Methodological-pedagogical concept: Digital Teaching Competence: Digital teaching competence is an educator’s ability to integrate digital tools effectively into teaching. It involves designing tech-enhanced learning, engaging students, and ensuring safe digital practices. Beyond technical skills, it includes pedagogical strategies like blended learning and interactive content.
Finally when it comes to the analyst, we can improve by better distributing the work and by being more effective since some of the members of our group are always leaving everything for the last minute.
