SPOTTER TASK 5
SPOTTER: ROCIO
This week our translator chose 4 concepts which are:
In order to analyze our job in the project and other's work as well, we looked at the 4 different concepts
of two other groups: (Masterminds and Star Group).
From Masterminds we had 2 different concepts which were:
- Technology Enhaced Learning (TEL).
order to foster learning. It mixes elements related to information and communication such as speed and
proximity, with elements from teaching, like learning or knowledge, improving in this way, the learning
experience and how educators teach. This concept, whose popularity is rising, presents different
advantages: TEL makes sharing educational materials easier; it enhances the scope of teaching action
and it improves the access to education and interactivity. Some examples of Technology-enhanced
learning are E-books, smartphones, tablets, computers, online courses or interactive groups.
- For us, this concept was very useful to really understand this task, we thought that this is one of
the most important concepts to complete and really understand what this task was about.
- ACAD.
ACAD,which means “Activity-Centred Analysis and Design”, is a framework to analyse and understand complex learning situations. It is an emerging tool, but which has been developed and improved during the last 20 years. ACAD is formed by different dimensions:
·Design
of the learning place: varied elements, both digital and material.
·Design
of social interaction: relationship between people who participate in the
learning situation (roles, groupings…)
·Design
of knowledge tasks: the tasks that participants have to do and evaluation.
·Emerging activity: it is the authentic activity of learning
·Goals:
only when ACAD is used to planning goals.
- For us this concept is really essential in all this task as we had to complete our ACAD in each task. Also it is very important to mention all the dimension and this group did it we choose it.
From Star group we were interest in these concepts:
- Constructivist Pedagogy
We choose this concept because we think that Constructivist pedagogy is the base of understanding. As our classmate defined this is an educational approach where learners build their own understanding through hands-on experiences and reflection. When students program Codey Rocky to recognize traffic signs (colours ), they actively engage in problem-solving and logical reasoning, leading to deeper comprehension. This methodology is rooted in the theories of Jean Piaget and Seymour Papert, particularly the idea that knowledge is best acquired through doing rather than passive absorption.
- Block-Based Programming
Block-based programming is a visual coding approach that allows users to create programs by stacking graphical blocks that represent code constructs. This method simplifies programming for beginners by removing syntax barriers and focusing on logical structure. Platforms like mBlock, used with Codey Rocky, enable young learners to intuitively develop programming skills through drag-and-drop coding, making computational thinking accessible and engaging.
- We think that this concept (block- based programming) is an excellent concept for us as beginner of programming, we need to know what we are doing and the first step is understanding the meaning of this program.
